He's at it again

Yes, the pizza oven is still in the works, but the far-away store that carries the required oven-building materials is closed on Saturdays. Poor Lyle. That morning he'd already played basketball and run ten miles, but without a project, he felt adrift and antsy.

Time to start the wisteria walkway!

It doesn't look impressive now and if I didn't know Lyle's track record, I'd be very panicked. Honestly, even knowing his track record, at the beginning stages of almost every project I think, Was this a good idea?, Is this tacky?, Have we ruined our house once and for all?

But then I think of my girls skipping under a canopy of fragrant wisteria, and that can't be a bad idea, right?

I'll just keep this image in my head. And I need to repeat the quote Lyle has reassured me with during many a design panic attack......"I don't do ugly." No, he certainly doesn't.

It will be gorgeous.

So, that's what it's called! Here is Sicily, it's everywhere. Like it grows wild. And one of my favorite's is where it has wound its way across a railing of a balcony, and the purple blossoms have just blooms and drape everywhere. And I remember thinking to myself, "I need to take a picture and send it to Eileen. She could tell me what this is, so I can go and find some for my own yard...." And then, ta da! It's going to be beautiful. And hopefully, so will mine.

I think I'm going to have to start paying YOU to use your property for photo shoots :) I mean a Wisteria Walk way? TO DIE FOR!

Now can you just plant an orchard? Because I'm dying to shoot in an orchard and can't find one within 100 miles HAH!

Oh! It's going to be so pretty!!!! Oh! You really WILL have to let out the property for photo shoots, E!!! It's so NOT ugly! Not one bit of it. So gorgeous.

Katie,

That's funny because one of the things on our list is to make an orchard!

Too bad it'll take years before it's photo worthy!
