An oath and a healthy dose of pictures

Readers, as you are my witnesses, my three-year old WILL keep taking naps! She WILL give me two hours of quiet time every afternoon! She WILL! And I will never be hungry again!

This is the girl I'm talking about. Miss busy body.

Miss I-will-cut-my-own-hair-whenever-I-feel-like-it.

The girl with the loud whisper.

The one who knows when to smile to get what she wants

And when to turn on the pout.

The girl who was SUPPOSED to be napping yesterday, but was instead exploring the closets

where she found this dress and slip and hat that I MADE --because I actually used to do that kind of thing--and had carefully stored away and preserved for the past 12 years

so it could be worn by Madeline's future daughter. But now without Maya naps, NOTHING is safe

Nothing I tell you!!! But I can't think about it today. Maybe tomorrow.
Because tomorrow is another day!

Eileen, Maya is irresistable! That sweetpea really knows how to work a pout (and a smile, and a "whisper")...too cute! Good luck with the naps! :) Amy

She does look angelic in the blessing dress though!

Gotta love that Scarlet O'hara. Sorry about the naps-I hate it when that happens...

It is always tragic when they give up their naps, but I have to say that you've been lucky. I can't get too worked up about a 3-year-old giving it up. None of mine (and I have 5, so you'd think I had a chance) took a regular nap past age 2--and I did try. I decided this was the trade-off for the fact that they all slept at least 6 hours straight by 6-weeks-old. It's a trade-off I have gladly taken, but it sure would be nice if my 3-year-old would nap again!

We moved from naps to "quiet time" where they were given a stack of books, and quiet toys on their bed, and expected to hang there for a couple of hours while I recouped... gratefully, I got that to fly...

She is too darling. When a child gives up naps it is always such a hard time. My youngest, who is 5, still sometimes disappears and I find him asleep in his bed at strange hours. Then he wants to party all night.

Wow it's hard to deny someone who is THAT cute and looks like a pure angel in white :) You had me at the GWTW references. Scarlett is my girl!

You crack me up, love Scarlet. Good thing she's so darn cute, but I'm sending sleeping waves her way every day around noon! Good luck!
